Dr Pei-Ching Tseng is a Research Midwife at the Maternal and Child Health Research Centre and administrator of the Institute for Health Research Ethics Committee at the University of Bedfordshire. She holds a PhD from the Institute for Health Research, an MA in Midwifery from National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Science, and a BS in Nursing from Chang Jung Christian University.
Her research focuses on maternal, infant, and reproductive health, particularly addressing disparities in healthcare access for ethnic minority populations. Her work includes systematic reviews and quantitative studies exploring antenatal care timing, neonatal outcomes, and postpartum exercise programs for pain management. Notable contributions include analyses of ethnic variations in preterm birth risks and late antenatal care initiation in socioeconomically deprived areas.
Dr Tseng has presented at international conferences such as the European Public Health Conference and the World Congress on Public Health. Her research highlights systemic inequities in healthcare access and advocates for culturally sensitive interventions to improve outcomes for marginalized groups.
Her professional roles involve ethics governance through the IHREC and advancing evidence-based practices in maternal and child health. Current projects include the Pregnancy Loss Research Network’s SunFLowEr Project.
