Peggy Payne is an Adjunct Professor of Piano specializing in Keyboard studies. She holds a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Oklahoma City University, where she studied under Robert Laughlin. Currently, she serves as Principal Keyboardist with the OKC Philharmonic and previously held the same role with the Oklahoma Symphony. She is recognized for her work with the Go for Baroque ensemble as harpsichordist/manager and as pianist with the New American Ragtime Ensemble, performing across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

Her research interests emphasize bridging musical performance with educational outreach. She pioneered pilot education programs for arts organizations, earning a Governor’s Arts and Education Award. As Arts Facilitator for Penn Square Mall, she fostered partnerships between the mall and non-profit arts groups, recognized by a Business in the Arts Award. Her performances include collaborations with the OKC Chamber Players, OKC Chamber Orchestra, and soloist roles with major orchestras.
Ms. Payne is an active member of Psi Kappa Lambda and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Beyond music, she enjoys road trips with her dalmatian, Kindle, and maintains an enthusiasm for embracing new challenges in her teaching and community roles.
