Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical classroom applications, making significant contributions to both scholarly discourse and teacher education.
Dr. Albers founded and maintains the Global Conversations in Literacy Research, an open-access web seminar series connecting literacy scholars worldwide. She serves as co-editor of Language Arts, the premier journal for pre-K through grade 8 language arts education published by the National Council of Teachers of English.
She has made substantial contributions to literacy education through her scholarship and teacher preparation work. Her research has been published in leading journals including Language Arts, English Education, Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, Journal of Literacy Research, and Journal of Early Childhood Elementary Education. She has authored four books that explore innovative approaches to literacy, multimodality, and arts integration in education.
