معرفی
Dr. Pedro Saavedra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Northeastern University. He leads the Saavedra Lab of Host-Microbe Interactions, focusing on host-microbe interactions in health and disease through immunology and cell biology. Research areas include microbiota impacts on host physiology, innate immune responses to pathogens, and immunomodulatory metabolites.
Education: B.S. Biology (University of Brasília, Brazil), M.S. Molecular Pathology (University of Brasília), Ph.D. in 2018 (University of Ghent, Belgium), postdoc at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Research interests: Host-microbe interactions, microbiota in disease (auto-inflammatory, metabolic, malignant), immune system mechanisms. The lab uses multidisciplinary approaches to identify therapeutic targets for human diseases.
Scientific Awards: None listed.
Advising and grants: No specific information provided.
Labs/Teams: Saavedra Lab of Host-Microbe Interactions, exploring cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune cell functions to address human diseases.
