Pedro A. Ribeiro

University of Bergen researcher Pedro A. Ribeiro serves as Deputy Director of the Centre for Deep-Sea Research, focusing on benthic ecosystems across deep-sea and shallow water environments. He teaches courses like BIO318: Current Geobiological Topics and BIO325: Ocean Science, while leading the Deep-sea biology research group.

• Research Interests: Biodiversity, population connectivity, marine conservation, and environmental impacts of deep-sea mining, with emphasis on Vulnerable Marine Ecosystems (VMEs) and hydrothermal vent communities
