معرفی
Camille Poitrimol is a postdoctoral research fellow in marine biology at Université Laval's Department of Biology, affiliated with the IRL Takuvik joint research unit (CNRS-UL). She specializes in benthic biodiversity and ecology, particularly focusing on hydrothermal vent ecosystems in the Southwest Pacific.
- Ph.D. in Benthic Ecology from Sorbonne Université (2019-2022)
- MSc in Oceanography and Marine Environment from Sorbonne Université (2016-2018)
- BSc in Life Sciences/Marine Biology from Université de La Rochelle (2013-2016)
Her research explores community ecology, biodiversity partitioning, and the influence of ecosystem engineers in marine environments. Current work involves studying hydrothermal vent gastropods' population structures and reproductive biology.
Recent publications focus on integrative taxonomy of vent mollusks, biogeographic patterns in fragmented ridge systems, and genetic diversity analysis of deep-sea organisms. Her work connects evolutionary biology with oceanographic dispersal mechanisms.
- 2023 Deep-Sea Biology Society Conference Support Award (£750)
- 2023 Roscoff Biological Station AJC travel grant (600€)
Active in field research (CCGS Amundsen expedition 2024), laboratory work, and international collaborations. Current projects examine species connectivity across back-arc basins and environmental drivers of biodiversity patterns.
