Paweł Jasiewicz is a lecturer at the Faculty of Industrial Design, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and also teaches at the Faculty of Wood Technology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He is a doctorate-holding furniture designer, artist, and researcher who runs the "Pracownia Jasiewicz" design studio.
His educational background includes:
- Koszalin University of Technology (2006)
- Buckinghamshire New University, UK (2007)
- Scholarship at Seinajoki University of Technology, Finland (2005)
Working at the intersection of design and art, Jasiewicz's research focuses on material innovation and craftsmanship, driven by a "joy of handwork" and Marcel Proust's philosophy of reinterpreting familiar elements. His portfolio spans utilitarian furniture (e.g., Tiger series), artistic objects, toys, and architectural interventions like the Wave railing, emphasizing the synergy between artisanal precision and industrial production. Key collaborations include Ikea, Greenpeace Polska, and Paged.
- Red Dot award for the design of the Łomża beer packaging (2011)
As an active researcher, he documents global wood-working traditions to inform his designs. He is affiliated with the Experimental Wood Workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he explores material boundaries through hands-on creation and industry partnerships.
