Mariusz Gajewski is a University Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he has taught since 2003 and currently directs the Photography Studio within the Department of Stage Design, Faculty of Set Design. Previously, he led the Photography Studio at the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology in Warsaw from 2010 to 2015.
His academic credentials include:
- Photography studies at the Faculty of Film, Television, and Photography, College of Art and Design in Łódź
- History at the Faculty of Humanities, Catholic University of Lublin
- Film and Television Editing at the Film and Television Academy in Warsaw
- PhD in Film Arts in Photography (2009) from the National Film, Television, and Theatre School in Łódź
- Postdoctoral degree in art (2020) from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
Professor Gajewski's research centers on photographic art, graphic design, and visual publication aesthetics, with emphasis on the intersection of technical precision and artistic expression. His work demonstrates mastery in book design and photographic composition, reflected in over 20 solo exhibitions and 70+ international group shows. He bridges historical context with contemporary visual language, particularly in archival and bibliographic applications.
