Paweł Rydel

Paweł Rydel is a Professor in the Piano Department at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. He holds a habilitation degree and specializes in 19th- and 20th-century music, particularly the works of R. Maciejewski and O. Messiaen. His artistic career includes numerous solo and chamber music performances across Europe, highlighted by top awards in prestigious competitions such as the F. Liszt Scholarship Competition and the Paderewski Competition.

Education: Trained under Professors Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń and Waldemar Wojtal at his alma mater. Advanced studies included courses with Andrzej Jasiński, Kevin Kenner, and Jean-Paul-Sevilla.

Research interests focus on classical piano repertoire and contemporary interpretations. Notable achievements include a film collaboration (Joanna Malinowska’s “Twenty Gazes”) based on his performance of O. Messiaen’s “Vingt Regards...”.

Awards include multiple national and international prizes, underscoring his contributions to piano artistry and pedagogy.
