Pauline Wolfer

Pauline Wolfer is a PhD Student funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), affiliated with the Medicine Section at the University of Fribourg's Faculty of Science and Medicine. She holds a master’s degree in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience from Aix-Marseille University. Her research focuses on multilingualism’s impact on cognitive development in typically developing children and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), combining clinical experience with empirical studies. Key interests include language processing, gesture comprehension in autism, and metalinguistic awareness assessment.

Her work addresses gaps in diagnosing speech disorders in multilingual populations and explores innovative tools for cognitive assessment (e.g., tablet-based measures of theory of mind). She has contributed to developmental psychology through peer-reviewed articles and book reviews. Awards include the prestigious SNSF PhD Fellowship supporting her research.
