Pauline Vallot is a Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Burgundy, affiliated with IREDU (Research Institute on Education and Development) and the Institut Convergences Migrations. Her research focuses on professional downgrading among postcolonial and postcommunist migrants in France and Germany, combining statistical analysis with qualitative interviews.
Her research interests span Migration Studies, Social Stratification, Higher Education, and Intersectionality (class, gender, race). She examines how educational backgrounds interact with labor market integration and analyzes localized strategies of migrants navigating status loss.
Her recent publications highlight professional downgrading in France, transnational identity dynamics, and family-work condition interplay. Articles explore themes like gender disparities in migrant labor, educational-employment linkages, and linguistic power shifts in international mobility.
Current teaching includes training in Socio-Economic Sciences (SES) for the Master MEEF second degré program at Inspé de Dijon, focusing on sociology, political science, and economics pedagogy, alongside gender and sexuality equality education.
