Pauline Rankin is a Professor at the School of Canadian Studies, Carleton University, and currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Her career spans academic research, administrative leadership, and international gender consultation, with past roles including Director of the Pauline Jewett Institute of Women’s Studies (2000-2005) and Director of the School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies (2005-2007).

Rankin's research focuses on gender and politics, with expertise in women's movements, feminist activism, and gender mainstreaming. She examines how gender dynamics influence national identity through nation branding and policy quantification, particularly in Canada’s political landscape. Her recent work investigates digital activism and the epistemological implications of measuring gender equality.
Recent Publications reveal consistent engagement with transnational feminism, electoral policy analysis, and digital organizing. These works bridge theoretical frameworks with empirical case studies, emphasizing the political economy of gender equity initiatives.
