Pauline Nobes is a Lecturer in Academic Studies and Tutor in Baroque and Classical Violin at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). She concurrently holds a professorship in Baroque Violin at the Würzburg Hochschule für Musik, Germany. Her career includes extensive touring and recording with leading period instrument ensembles such as The English Baroque Soloists, The English Concert, and Das Neue Orchester. Notable performances include collaborations with Musica Antiqua Köln and leadership roles in the Kölner Akademie.
Her research focuses on Baroque violin techniques, historical performance practices, and early music pedagogy. Articles in Strad Magazine explore topics like Scordatura tuning and Baroque performance methodologies. Nobes’ work emphasizes reviving authentic interpretations of pre-classical repertoire, blending academic scholarship with practical performance expertise.
