Pauline Gibard

Pauline Gibard is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at iaelyon School of Management, Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, starting September 2025. She is a researcher within the Magellan Research Laboratory, affiliated with the CREATE thematic team focused on entrepreneurship. Her academic journey includes a Doctorate in Management Sciences (2024), a Master 2 in Management Research (2020), and a Master 1 in Team Management, Quality and Sustainable Development (2019), all from iaelyon.

Her research centers on women's entrepreneurship, particularly how identity journeys influence entrepreneurial financing decisions. She employs qualitative and narrative methodologies to explore the lived experiences of women entrepreneurs, focusing on how personal and gendered identities shape financial practices beyond mere economic rationality. Her work intersects with themes of gender, identity theory, and entrepreneurial practice.

Her doctoral thesis, The construction of funding requests of women entrepreneurs: an exploration of their identity journey through a qualitative analysis of their life stories, analyzed narrative interviews, observations, and policy actor interviews, revealing three temporalities in women's entrepreneurial paths and three forms of identity promulgation affecting funding practices. This research earned her the 1st Prize of the Thesis Award from the Academy of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (AEI) in 2025, highlighting the significance and quality of her work.

Pauline Gibard has taught entrepreneurship, strategy, business creation, and dissertation methodology at both undergraduate and graduate levels at iaelyon. As an ATER (temporary teaching and research assistant), she contributed to both education and research. She continues to lead and animate the CREATE research team and engages in scientific valorization activities. Her future work will further develop research at the intersection of gender, impact, and entrepreneurship within the Magellan Laboratory.

She conducts her research within the Magellan Research Laboratory, specifically contributing to the CREATE thematic research team at iaelyon, which focuses on entrepreneurship. This team provides a collaborative environment for exploring innovation, gender, and social impact in entrepreneurial contexts.
