Prof. Dr. Paula Schrode is a Professor of Religious Studies with a focus on contemporary Islamic cultures at the University of Bayreuth’s Faculty of Cultural Studies, Department of Religious Studies. Since 2024, she has served as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and previously as Vice Dean (2021–2024). She has held leadership roles in the German Association for Religious Studies (DVRW) and is a member of several academic societies including the German Working Group on the Middle East (DAVO).
