Dr. Paula Edwards is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Emory University, with a focus on leveraging data and information technology to enhance healthcare quality, efficiency, and safety. She holds a BS and PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Her research interests span Analytics, Health Informatics, Healthcare Systems, Interoperability, Machine Learning, Public Health Informatics, Statistical Modeling, Data Science, Behavior, and Health Information Technology. She has contributed to 20+ peer-reviewed publications, primarily in areas like health informatics, pediatric cancer survivorship, human-computer interaction, data governance, and clinical workflow redesign. A prolific presenter, she has delivered insights at over 20 industry conferences.
Dr. Edwards currently serves as Senior Director of Data Science Strategy for Emory's Goizueta Brain Health Institute, where she is the product owner for the Goizueta Brain Health Data Platform, Chair of the Data Governance Committee, co-Chair of the Personalized Brain Health Collaborative, and co-leader of the Data Management Core for the Goizueta Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. She has also taught courses such as DATA 556: Data Visualizations in PH.
