Paula Danby serves as Associate Head of School for Leadership, HRM and Enterprise at the University of Sunderland's Business School. She also co-leads the Business School Research Centre, fostering an inclusive research environment. Her academic career focuses on innovative leadership, workplace wellbeing, and equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), with a unique emphasis on human-animal interactions in leisure contexts.
Her research spans human-equine relationships in tourism and hospitality, exploring topics such as psychological wellbeing and post-humanist frameworks. She has published widely in journals like Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research and contributed to edited volumes on multispecies leisure and animal ethics.
