Paula A. Franzese is a Visiting Professor at Seton Hall University School of Law and Director of the Leadership Fellows Program. Her expertise spans property law, fair housing, and government ethics. She holds the Peter W. Rodino Professorship of Law and has been nationally recognized for teaching excellence, including a decade of Student Bar Association awards. A graduate of Barnard College (summa cum laude) and Columbia Law School, she has pioneered law-related civic education and authored influential works like the Short and Happy law series. Her scholarship critiques housing inequality, tenant rights, and ethics reform, informed by her roles as Special Ethics Counsel to Governor Richard J. Codey and contributor to landmark Supreme Court cases like Kelo. She has shaped policies on affordable housing and tenant protections through advocacy and legislative efforts.
Education: B.A. Barnard College (1980), J.D. Columbia University (1983). Academic focus includes civil liberties, criminal law, and property law.
