Associate Professor Paul Wright is an academic in the School of Medical Sciences at RMIT University, specializing in Immunotoxicology and Nanotoxicology. He leads the Toxicology Unit and coordinates the world's first fully-online postgraduate Toxicology programs. His roles include lecturing in courses across RMIT and the University of Melbourne, focusing on toxicology, drug design, and regulation.
Research Interests: Immunotoxicology, nanosafety, natural products' anti-inflammatory properties, and liver cell transplantation. Key projects include co-coordinating NanoSafe Australia and contributing to global toxicology education initiatives like the IUTOX online program.
Awards: FIUPAC Fellowship (2006), RMIT Research Award (2002), and recognition for industry roles in IUTOX and ASCEPT.
Professional Roles: Director of IUTOX Executive Committee (2001–2004), Program Co-ordinator for RMIT's online Toxicology programs, and member of NHMRC Advisory Committee on Health and Nanotechnology.
Teaching & Supervision: Supervised 8 PhD, 19 Master’s, and 27 Honours students. Courses coordinated include Principles of Toxicology and Advanced Risk Assessment.
Labs/Teams: Involved in CSIRO Future Manufacturing’s nanosafety research and the Rotary Liver Cell Bank at Murdoch Children's Research Institute.
