Sarah Dickinson

Sarah Dickinson is a faculty member in the Biology Department at Geneva College, with a research focus in toxicology, molecular and cellular biology, and genetics. She holds a Ph.D. in Toxicology from the University of Rochester (2020) and a B.S. in Biology from Roberts Wesleyan College.

Her research centers on the off-target biological effects of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) filters in sunscreens, particularly their interaction with the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) in skin cells. She also investigates the immunotoxicological and inflammatory impacts of nanomaterials such as silica and carbon nanotubes on skin models. Her work bridges environmental health, dermatotoxicology, and molecular signaling pathways.
