Dr. Paul Wolf serves as an Assistant Professor of Voice in the W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts at McNeese State University. He is a talented tenor with extensive national performance experience across major opera companies and symphonies.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Performance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2015)
- Master of Music Degree from the University of Alabama (2017)
- Doctorate in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Colorado (2023)
Dr. Wolf specializes in voice performance with research interests spanning opera performance, vocal pedagogy, and contemporary American opera development. He has been actively involved in premiering new works through collaborations with composers like Jake Heggie, Gene Scheer, and Tom Cipullo. His performance repertoire includes both classical and contemporary pieces, with recent engagements including Mr. Owen in Eklund Opera's production of Argento's Postcard from Morocco, and Tenor soloist in Beethoven's Mass in C and Mozart's Requiem.
Dr. Wolf has received notable recognition including:
- 2019 NFMC Young Artist Man's Voice Winner from their 60th Biennial Competition
- Second place in the 2016 MTNA National Young Artist Vocal Competition
As an educator, Dr. Wolf brings his professional performance experience directly into the classroom.
