Dr. Paul White is an Associate Professor in Business Management at Swansea University's School of Management. He holds a multidisciplinary background with post-doctoral roles in medical and business schools, previously working as an intensive care nurse. His research focuses on ethnography, exploring 'the social' through spaces of interaction in healthcare, employment, and technology-driven environments. Current research includes migrant belonging, workplace comfort, and security in global contexts.
Education & Career: Post-doctoral career spanning Cardiff University, Imperial College, and Swansea University. Trained in sociological research methods with a nursing background.
Research Interests: Ethnography, organizational sociology, healthcare systems, migration studies, and workplace dynamics. Recent work includes heritage hotel staff experiences and tourism in polar regions.
Publications: Over 20+ peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in journals like Annals of Tourism Research and Human Relations. Key themes include healthcare spaces, organizational subversion, and cultural materials in intensive care.
