Paul Starr is a Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs, and Stuart Professor of Communications and Public Affairs at Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs. He is also the founding co-editor of The American Prospect, a liberal magazine. His work spans political sociology, health care policy, communications, and liberalism's institutional development. Starr served as a health policy advisor to the Clinton administration and has authored influential books like The Social Transformation of American Medicine (Pulitzer Prize) and Entrenchment. His research explores democracy, inequality, and the entrenchment of power.
