Dr. Paul Sherratt is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Technology at Loughborough University's Sports Technology Institute. He holds a BEng (Hons) in Engineering Science and Technology, a PhD in Composite Materials, and is pursuing a part-time MBA at Loughborough. His academic career focuses on applying advanced materials science to sports equipment and injury prevention, with expertise in composite materials, injury biomechanics, and product development.
Sherratt’s professional background includes roles in manufacturing and R&D, including product management at TWI Ltd and leadership at Pera Innovation. He is an expert evaluator for the European Commission’s Clean Sky and Aerospace programs. His research integrates engineering principles with sports applications, such as developing surrogate models for traumatic brain injury (TBI) studies and analyzing sports equipment safety standards.

- Sports Injury Prevention: Biomechanics of head injuries, neck stiffness effects in sports like judo
