Paul Schmitt is Associate Professor in the English Department at Vincennes University. He brings 28 years of professional journalism experience to his academic position, having worked as a newspaper editor, writer, and photographer prior to joining academia in 2008.
Teaching responsibilities include:
- Public speaking and communication courses
- Journalism curriculum development
- English composition and literature
He maintains professional activities as a writer and photographer for BOOMER Magazine. Prof. Schmitt previously served as editor of Indiana's oldest newspaper and held leadership positions in journalism organizations including presidency of the Indiana News Photographers Association and board membership of the Hoosier State Press Association.
