Paul Schattan

Paul Schattan is a Researcher at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, specializing in hydrological modeling and monitoring of snow water resources in the context of climate change adaptation. He is a core member of the Cosmic Sense team (DFG-Forschungsgruppe FOR 2694) and leads the Snow Dynamics (SD) module.

His research focuses on innovative applications of Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensing (CRNS), terrestrial LiDAR, URANOS neutron simulations, and hydrological models to advance understanding of snowpack dynamics and neutron-snow relationships. His work emphasizes spatial heterogeneity in mountainous regions, contributing to climate-resilient water resource management.
