معرفی
Clinical Professor Paul Robinson is a leading clinician-researcher at the University of Sydney's Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health, with clinical specialization at The Children's Hospital at Westmead and research affiliations with the Woolcock Medical Research Institute. As Director of the Australian Central Over-Reading Centre (CORC) network, he standardizes Multiple Breath Washout (MBW) and Oscillometry testing globally. His work bridges clinical practice and translational research in pediatric respiratory medicine.
- Member of Charles Perkins Centre
- International collaborations with University of Toronto, Central Hospital Skovde, and Royal Brompton Hospital
Research Interests: Targeting early detection of peripheral airway disease in pediatrics using MBW and Oscillometry—tools that assess nearly 95% of lung volume previously considered 'silent.' These methods are feasible across all pediatric ages and form the basis for clinical translation in Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, and Post-Transplantation Monitoring. His team explores structure-function relationships through CT and MRI integration.
Article Trends (2013–2025) show sustained focus on MBW/Oscillometry standardization, pediatric respiratory disease mechanisms, and clinical translation. Key areas include CF lung disease, asthma control, and environmental health impacts like bushfire smoke. Collaborations span Canada, Sweden, and UK.
Scientific Awards include multiple TSANZ and ANZSRS best presentation awards (2006–2021), NHMRC PhD scholarship (2008), and leadership recognition through ATS Paediatric Assembly Chair roles.
Teaching & Supervision involves medical students, junior staff training, and higher research candidates. Current Projects (2015–2025) span NHMRC, Asthma Australia, and Sydney Medical School Foundation grants, focusing on maternal asthma effects, home-based asthma monitoring, and post-transplantation complications.
