Paul Petrie

Professor Paul Petrie holds multiple academic roles, including Affiliate Professor at the University of Adelaide, Associate Professor at Flinders University, and Adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW. He serves as Principal Scientist – Viticulture and Program Leader of the Irrigated Crops group at the South Australian Research and Development Institute. His research focuses on enhancing vineyard resilience through climate change adaptation strategies, technology integration (e.g., smartphone thermal cameras for water status assessment), and post-bushfire crop recovery. Paul earned his PhD in canopy management from Lincoln University, New Zealand, and has extensive industry experience with roles at CSIRO and Treasury Wine Estates.
