Elisabetta Nicolosi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) at the University of Catania. She holds the National Scientific Qualification for the competitive sector 07/B2 (Science and Technology of Tree and Forest Systems) and serves as Scientific Director for Agrobiodiversity Collections. A founding member of the spin-off 'AgriUniTech srl,' she also sits on multiple university committees, including the Management Board of the Experimental Agricultural Company and the Joint Teacher-Student Committee (CPDS).
Education:
Graduated with honors in Agricultural Sciences (1993) and earned a PhD in 'Cropped Plant Productivity' (1998) from the University of Catania. Received advanced training at the Citrus Research and Education Center in Florida (1994).
Research Focus:
Her work spans genetic characterization of citrus/grapevine using molecular markers, phylogenetic studies, germplasm recovery (citrus, hazelnut, vines), ampelographic analysis of Sicilian grape varieties, and sustainable canopy/soil management protocols for vineyards, orchards, and olive groves.
