Dr Paul Noble is a Senior Lecturer in 3D Animation at the Department of Digital Arts and Animation, Teesside University. With nearly 20 years in computer graphics, he specializes in technical animation, visual effects using SideFX Houdini, and algorithmic approaches to expressive non-realistic animation.
- PhD in Algorithmic Approaches to Expressive Character Animation (Teesside University, 2013)
His research focuses on expressive animation, 3D modeling, and non-photorealistic rendering, with publications emphasizing deformation algorithms, motion stylization, and caricature generation. Recent works explore psychological aspects of animation and multi-level 3D systems.
Dr Noble contributed to feature documentaries including The Last Man on the Moon (2014) and Mission Control (2017). His awards span both academic and recreational domains, including the Mick Berry trophy for heaviest marrow (2011) and Saltburn croquet championship (1999).
