Paul Michael Luetzeler is the Rosa May Distinguished University Professor in the Humanities at Washington University in St. Louis. A leading scholar in German and European literary studies, he has held visiting professorships at Rikkyo University, Complutense University of Madrid, and the University of Tübingen, among others, and has received prestigious awards such as the Goethe Medal, the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Arthur Holly Compton Faculty Achievement Award.

His research focuses on European identity, German exile literature, and transatlantic cultural relations. Recent publications explore postmodernism, postcolonial discourse, and modernist themes, reflecting his expertise in European and German literary traditions. He has organized symposia and exchanges between U.S. and German institutions, promoting international collaboration.
