Paul Marsden is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester and Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He leads an award-winning chronic cough clinic and focuses on clinical trial research for chronic cough mechanisms and treatments. His academic background includes a PhD in 'Cough, Asthma and Airway Inflammation' (2010) from the University of Manchester and training in General and Respiratory Medicine in North West England.
Research interests span chronic cough pathophysiology, clinical trial design, and advance care planning in COPD. He holds an NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre grant and collaborates on EU Horizon projects. Professional memberships include the British Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society.
Education: MB ChB (University of Sheffield, 2001), MRCP (2005), LLM (2020). He has supervised 2 PhD students and contributed to 28 research outputs. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals addressing health and well-being.
