Dr Paul Ledger is an Honorary Research Fellow at Swansea University's Faculty of Science and Engineering and a Professor of Computational Mathematics at Keele University. His expertise spans computational electromagnetics, finite element methods, and inverse problems. He specializes in high-order finite element simulations for Maxwell's equations, preconditioning techniques, and coupled magneto-mechanical systems in MRI scanner design.
Research interests include hp-finite element software development, error estimation, reduced order modeling, and applications in biomedical imaging and metal detection. He has supervised PhD research on MRI scanner vibrations and contributed to industrial projects on electromagnetic field modeling. His work bridges applied mathematics, engineering, and data science, with recent focus on probabilistic methods for inverse problems.
Publications emphasize magnetic polarizability tensors, eddy current simulations, and MRI system optimization.
