Marc Duruflé is an Assistant Professor at ENSEIRB-MATMECA (Institut Polytechnique de Bordeaux) and a member of the Inria MAGIQUE-3D team. His research focuses on wave propagation phenomena, numerical methods for partial differential equations, and applications in electromagnetics, acoustics, and computational physics. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from ENSTA ParisTech (2006).
Key research areas include high-order finite element methods, boundary layer phenomena in acoustic media, and thin-layer models for electromagnetic and elastodynamic problems. He has contributed to projects involving helioseismology, piano acoustics modeling, and waveguide analysis.
Recent publications span topics such as electromagnetic mode computation, efficient time schemes for Maxwell’s equations, and boundary condition approximations in complex media. He has advised PhD students including Elvira Shishenina and Izar Azpiroz. His work integrates theoretical analysis with numerical simulations, addressing challenges in engineering and geophysical applications.
