Paul Kramer

Assistant Professor Paul Kramer researches neural communication mechanisms at the University of Michigan's Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. His lab investigates axon physiology in dopamine systems, examining how axons actively participate in neurotransmission and contribute to neurological conditions. Current work focuses on striatal microcircuits and dopaminergic signaling pathways.

Research identifies novel synaptic-like transmission mechanisms between neuronal subtypes. Articles explore GABAergic regulation of dopamine release and cholinergic- dopaminergic interactions.
