Paul Jowsey

Paul Jowsey is a Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University since May 2020. His research focuses on DNA damage responses, post-translational modifications in tumor suppressor proteins (e.g., MCPH1), and the genotoxic mechanisms of chemical warfare agents like sulfur mustard. He also investigates the DNA damage caused by medical radiation and environmental factors.

His scientific contributions span cancer biology, toxicology, and DNA repair mechanisms, as evidenced by 15 recent articles analyzing phosphorylation events in cell cycle regulators, oxidative stress in veterans, and molecular pathways in response to SSRIs and chemical exposures.
