Dr Zuzana Horejsi is a Lecturer and Group Leader at the Centre for Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology, focusing on phosphorylation events in DNA damage response and their roles in cancer development. Her work bridges molecular biology and cancer research to unravel mechanisms of genomic instability.
Research interests include Cell Signalling, DNA Damage and Modifications, and Targeting Tumour Cells. Key publications analyze CK2-dependent interactions in the R2TP complex and their implications for mTOR/SMG1 stability, spanning molecular oncology, protein kinases, and DNA repair mechanisms.
She received the Sir Henry Dale Fellowship (2016-2021) from the Wellcome Trust for £954,102, supporting her work on novel DNA damage kinase substrates. Her lab investigates non-canonical DNA damage pathways and their therapeutic potential in cancer.
