Paul Hoover is Professor of Creative Writing at San Francisco State University, where he has taught since 2003. An accomplished poet, editor, and translator, he has published over 15 poetry collections and several influential anthologies including the Norton anthology 'Postmodern American Poetry'.
His scholarly work includes:
- Experimental poetic forms and postmodern aesthetics
- Transatlantic literary translations (Spanish, Vietnamese, German)
- Curatorial work in avant-garde poetry
- Literary magazine editing (New American Writing)
Honors include PEN Translation Award, NEA Fellowship, and Carl Sandburg Poetry Prize.
