Dr. Paul Everill is a Lecturer in Archaeology at the University of Winchester, School of Humanities, where he teaches and supervises PhD students. He has been at the university since 2008 and has played key roles such as Undergraduate Programme Leader for Archaeology (2013–2018) and Research Excellence Framework Lead for Archaeology (C15) and Social Work and Social Policy (C20). His research focuses on the archaeology of Western Georgia, the social implications of archaeology, and heritage-related wellbeing. He co-directs the Anglo-Georgian Expedition to Nokalakevi and leads the AMPHORA project, producing guidelines for heritage interventions in mental health.
Research interests include therapeutic engagement with heritage, archaeological methodologies, and the history of archaeology. He has authored/co-edited numerous books, including Archaeology, Heritage and Wellbeing (2022) and On the Shoulders of Prometheus (2023). Awards include Fellowships from the Society of Antiquaries and the Royal Anthropological Institute.
