Paul Evans is an Artist Lecturer in Percussion at the School of Music, Carnegie Mellon University, a position he has held for over twenty years. He is a founding member of River City Brass, the only full-time professional brass band in America, which has toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe. His teaching has produced students who have secured positions in major orchestras, Broadway ensembles, and percussion design companies.
His performance career includes roles as percussionist for PBS series such as 'American Soundtrack' and 'My Music,' where he collaborated with hundreds of artists across diverse genres. Notable student achievements include placements in orchestras like the Oregon Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra, and Malaysian Philharmonic, as well as leadership roles in percussion design firms like Ginter Sticks/Mallets and Luft Mallets.
Evans’ work bridges academic instruction, professional performance, and industry innovation, reflecting his dual focus on classical percussion techniques and contemporary musical trends.
