معرفی
Paul Barton is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the National Heart & Lung Institute (NHLI) at Imperial College London, a Genetics Research Manager at Royal Brompton Hospital, and a founding member of the Cardiovascular Genetics and Genomics Group. He holds a PhD in Human Genetics from the University of London and has held postdoctoral roles at the Institut Pasteur Paris, supported by fellowships from the Muscular Dystrophy Association of America and EMBO. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of cardiac development and disease, with a particular emphasis on cardiomyopathies and genetic influences. He has published over 230 papers, including contributions to Gray’s Anatomy, and holds FESC and FAHA fellowships.
Education: PhD in Human Genetics (University of London). Research interests include cardiorespiratory medicine, genetics, and translational cardiac research. Awards: FESC (European Society of Cardiology), FAHA (American Heart Association). He collaborates across multiple institutions, including NHLI, Royal Brompton Hospital, and the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS).
His recent work explores genetic architectures of cardiomyopathies, sex-based differences in disease presentation, and therapeutic implications of interleukin-11 in heart failure. His affiliations include the Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine Network and the Genetics and Imaging group.
