Dr Brian Halliday is a Clinical Associate Professor at the National Heart & Lung Institute (NHLI), Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, and a Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. His research focuses on optimizing treatments for dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) across disease stages. He led the BHF-funded TRED-HF trial, published in The Lancet (2018), and secured further funding for follow-up trials (TRED-HF-2 and MitoQ studies).
- Education: MB ChB from University of Edinburgh (Murdoch Brown Silver Medal recipient)
- PhD from Imperial College London (NHLI Best Thesis Award)
- Part-time MSc in Clinical Trials from University of Oxford (funded by European Society of Cardiology)
Research interests include clinical trial design, antioxidant therapies, and public health strategies in heart failure. He holds editorial roles at European Heart Journal and Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging.
