Paul B. Jaskot is a Professor of Art, Art History & Visual Studies and German Studies at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. He currently serves as Chair of Art, Art History & Visual Studies (since 2021) and Co-Director of the Digital Art History & Visual Culture Research Lab. Holding a Ph.D. in Art History from Northwestern University (1993), his work focuses on Nazi Germany's cultural policies, architectural politics, and Holocaust impact studies. He actively participates in interdisciplinary initiatives like Bass Connections, exploring Duke's campus architectural history and Holocaust geographies.
Research emphasizes intersections between politics and built environments, with projects funded by the J. Paul Getty Trust and Mary Duke Biddle Foundation. Teaching spans modern architecture, German art under National Socialism, and art market dynamics. He has held leadership roles including Director of the Art History PhD program (2019-2021) and serves on Duke's Interdisciplinary Strategy Council and Bass Connections advisory bodies.
Awarded the Ina Levine Fellowship (2020-21) from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, his work bridges traditional art history with digital methodologies. Current projects include digital exhibitions on hidden histories and XR technology applications in cultural heritage preservation.
