Paul Adams is a Principal Lecturer and MA Youth and Community Work course leader at the University of East London (UEL). He holds a BA (Hons) in Applied Youth and Community Work and an MA in Social Justice and Education, with professional qualifications from the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC). His career spans over 18 years in youth and community work across voluntary and statutory sectors.
Adams specializes in global youth work, youth participation, and voluntary sector leadership. He has led modules such as Field Work Practice and Community Development Principles, and served as an external examiner for multiple JNC-accredited courses in England and Wales. His research focuses on leveraging online spaces for engaging marginalized youth through non-formal education.
He has contributed to publications including Development Education in Policy and Practice (2014) and authored works on open-source collaboration tools (2005). His external roles include former trustee positions with Y Care International and current external examiner roles at Northampton University and South Devon College.
