Paul A. Grosch was a Professor of Accounting at Loyola University (now part of Loyola Marymount University) from 1952 to 1984. His career spanned teaching at institutions including Tiffin University, the University of Missouri, and Rockhurst University before joining Loyola. He emphasized the intersection of ethics and accounting in his teaching and scholarship, shaping LMU's accounting program to prioritize ethical professionalism. His legacy is perpetuated through the Paul A. Grosch Professorship (established 2002) and the Paul A. Grosch Lecture Series (2008), which address contemporary ethical challenges in accounting and business.
Professor Grosch earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri. During World War II, he served as a combat pilot and flight instructor. His pedagogical approach produced graduates renowned for their analytical rigor and integrity. He passed away in 2006, leaving a lasting impact on accounting education through his vision of ethics-driven professional practice.
