Patrizia Santi is a Full Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Parma. She has served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy since 2010 and has held teaching appointments in Pharmaceutical Technology, Cosmetic Products, and Pharmaceutical Formulation since 1998. Her international experience includes roles at the University of Lille and University of California, San Francisco.

Her research focuses on controlled drug delivery systems, particularly transdermal, ocular, and buccal routes using iontophoresis, microneedles, and bioadhesive films. She has contributed to polymeric micelles, crosslinked hydrogels, and ocular transport mechanisms.
Her recent publications highlight ocular delivery of neuroprotective compounds, transscleral iontophoresis, microneedle-assisted buccal delivery, and bioadhesive films for local anesthetics. She also explores archaeometric provenance studies for historical materials.
