Dr. Patrina Duhaney is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary, where she serves as Chair of the Anti-Black Racism Task Force and Academic Co-Lead for Democracy, Justice, and Sustainability. Her transdisciplinary research integrates social work, criminology, gender studies, and law to dismantle systemic racism and promote equity.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, MSW from Toronto Metropolitan University, Hons. BSW from York University, and Hons. BA from University of Toronto.
Research focuses on anti-Black racism, racial justice, trauma, and health equity through community-engaged approaches. Publications demonstrate consistent themes of intersectional analysis of systemic oppression, with recent work emphasizing actionable strategies for institutional change.
