His publications highlight themes of violence, gender, and nation-building. Key works include a chapter on honor during the U.S.-Mexico War and studies on northern Mexican women’s roles in the War of the Reform and French Intervention. Dr. Troester’s scholarship bridges historical analysis with cultural and gender studies.
