Patrick Murray

Patrick Murray is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering within the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University. He retired after a 30-year career at Intel Corporation and now volunteers extensively with the department, serving as an alumni-student mentor, industry coach, and lecturer. His roles include co-teaching product development courses (ISE216, ISE589/MBA555) and contributing to sustainable engineering education across multiple courses.

Research Interests: Focuses on sustainable engineering through circular economy principles, informed by his industry experience and academic collaborations. He emphasizes proactive policy engagement regarding emerging technologies' societal impacts, as highlighted in his advocacy for addressing unintended consequences of technological advancements.

Key Contributions: Served on the ISE Department’s AI Committee and the Masters of Engineering Management Academic Committee. His volunteer efforts include supporting undergraduate Capstone projects and advising the department head and ISE advisory board since 2018.
