Patrick Meraldi

Patrick Meraldi is a Full Professor at the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism, Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva. He serves as Head of Department since 2022 and previously led the Gender Equality Commission (2019-2022) and Translational Research Centre in Onco-Hematology (2016-2022).

His research focuses on mitotic spindle dynamics, centrosome function, and chromosome segregation mechanisms in human cells. Key studies examine microtubule-kinetochore interactions, spindle symmetry regulation, and aneuploidy consequences in cancer and developmental disorders.

Recent publications highlight asymmetric spindle organization and replication stress impacts on mitosis. He has secured multiple Swiss National Science Foundation grants for spindle regulation research and cryo-EM infrastructure.
